BowlersAI Inc. ("BowlersAI," "we," "us," or "our") operates the BowlersAI mobile application (iOS, with Android coming Q2 2026) and the BowlersAI web portal. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our services.
Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile information (name, email, and profile photo) as authorized by you.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including session activity, feature usage, practice sessions, game scores, and bowling statistics. This data helps us improve the app and provide personalized coaching insights.
Device Information: We collect device identifiers, operating system version, app version, and device attestation data (via Apple DeviceCheck and Firebase AppCheck) to ensure the security and integrity of our services.
Video and Audio Data: When you use our video recording features, video footage is captured and stored locally on your device only — it is never uploaded to our servers. Snapshot markups and gallery images are also stored on-device. When you use voice score entry, audio is processed through on-device speech recognition to convert spoken scores into text; audio data is not transmitted to our servers.
AI Chat Data: When you interact with our AI coaching assistant (powered by Firebase Vertex AI and Anthropic's Claude AI), we collect and process your chat messages, questions, and the context of your bowling data that you share during conversations.
We use the information we collect to:
On-Device Storage: All user-generated content — including videos, video snapshots, gallery images, and session data — is stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to or stored in the cloud. Your device is the primary storage location for your bowling content.
Firebase: Your account data, bowling statistics, session records, evaluations, and AI chat history are stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore). Firebase provides encryption at rest and in transit.
iCloud Sync: If you have iCloud enabled, your local app data is synced across your Apple devices using SwiftData with CloudKit. This data is governed by Apple's privacy policies and is encrypted end-to-end by Apple.
Stripe: Payment information (credit card numbers, billing details) is processed and stored exclusively by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. We retain only a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure token-based authentication, and device attestation. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
BowlersAI uses Firebase Vertex AI and Anthropic's Claude AI to power our AI coaching assistant. When you use the AI chat feature:
Google and Anthropic may process your AI chat data in accordance with their respective data processing terms. We do not use your chat data to train or improve third-party AI models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details on Claude AI data handling.
Video Recording: Videos you record within the app are stored locally on your device only. Videos are never uploaded to our servers or stored in the cloud. You control which videos to record, save, and delete.
Snapshot Markup: Annotated snapshots from your videos are stored locally on your device. These markups are private to your device unless explicitly shared with a coach through the data sharing feature.
Gallery Images: All gallery images are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Voice Score Entry: Speech recognition for score entry is processed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. Audio data is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. The recognized text (your scores) is stored as part of your session data.
BowlersAI supports coach-student relationships where coaches can provide evaluations and guidance:
This transient data sharing model ensures that your coaching content is never stored on our servers longer than necessary for delivery.
BowlersAI is used by bowlers of all ages, including youth bowlers. We are committed to compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@bowlersai.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
BowlersAI uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. Notifications may include coaching reminders, session updates, evaluation alerts, and account-related information. You can manage your notification preferences within the app's settings or through your device's system settings at any time.
We store your device push token securely and use it solely for delivering notifications relevant to your account. We do not share your push token with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email prior to the changes taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently revised. Your continued use of BowlersAI after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
